Kingston Flemings is the defense-first PG of the lottery tier — and a player
whose draft stock has risen sharply since November. The 6-foot-4 Houston freshman averaged
13.6 points, 5.4 assists, 4.2 rebounds, and 1.9 steals while shooting 41% from three under
Kelvin Sampson's defense-emphatic system. The case for Flemings: he projects as a top-five
defensive guard in his rookie season, his 6-foot-4 size lets him guard SGs and even some SFs,
and his shooting (improving across the season) gives him a real floor as a 3-and-D combo
guard if his lead-PG growth stalls. Comparisons most often cited: Jrue Holiday at the high
end, Mikal Bridges (positional flexibility) at the safer end. Most boards have him in the
6-14 range, with several front offices having him as their top-10 pre-draft tier.
